today was a polo day

aaron: wasn't that your work-shirt?
me: yeah, but now it's my life-shirt.

Bought my ticket for this

Totally blew off my one class today. It's all good though, he's one of those professors that just reads out of the book. Had band practice with my new band. I'm liking how our songs are turning out.

... And it is up :)

Jake got me this Futurama poster

and I'm pretty hyped to put it up as soon as it flattens out. I'll post another picture of it as soon as its up on my wall since you can't really see the whole thing. hah, yeah this is what my hundred's of dollars worth of college textbooks are used for - to flatten out a poster. :)

DONT TR.I.P.

Last night was dont trip's last show evarrrrr. First and last time i'll see that band. I'm kinda bummed out now that I'm thinking about it. The show was at the Submission Art Gallery on Mission & 18th in San Francisco. I was just going to take the BART to the show but figured the show might end late, and if i missed the last train I would have hated life.

Due to "navigational errors" I parked about 5 blocks away from the venue. A little walking doesn't hurt though.. Ok it was a lot of walking... through San Francisco... at like 10pm, high possibilities of getting hurt, but I didn't want to find parking again, and I didn't want to parallel park again.

*sidenote: i saved 4 dollars since the car in front of us at the bay bridge toll paid for two cars, and some nice guy helped me parallel park by letting me know if i was too close to the parked car behind me. i love good samaritans.

you are now entering the city

you are now in the city

their vocalist was soooooooooooooooooo wasted

before dont trips set

dont trips set (i didn't record this)

energy was still high after they played

I really liked the vibe of this show. Everyone was there to have fun and got into the music. there was no dickmoshing, there were no fights. I hate the central valleys scene.

$1
(ps the girl in the white tank top holding down DT's merch at the end of the show was cute)

and i gots me a shirty

tired, sweaty, satisfied.

My iPhone update almost made me late to school today

Well actually I made it just in time, but I normally get to school about 20 minutes early for "bullshit time". Bullshit time applies to everyone. We all practice bullshit time whether we know it or not. Synonymous to "lollygagging". Bullshit time occurs most before we go to bed. Bullshit time = actual time we go to sleep - time we say we are going to sleep.

So I made it to school just in time to turn in my essay for my Asian American Studies class. After the whole class turned in their essays, the professor said that anyone else who came in late and tried to turn in their essay would get marked down a letter grade. I would have gone on a rampage if I got marked down on my rushed, two day (yet had two weeks to work on) essay because of a stupid iPhone update.

sweet bumper sticker ahah

After my classes were dunzo I watched Paranormal Activity.

If you feel like all the horrors you've been watching lately have blown, watching this movie.

went to the very top, then came back down. it was wayy too far from the screen

oh yeah, i found God on the way to Dublin

jeeps are sick :)

Johnny Cupcakes Lecture

I know its only Saturday, but I have had a pretty eventful weekend. Today actually feels like Sunday for me, so that makes tomorrow Monday? or I'm getting a double-Sunday?

So Manuel, Jake, and I were able to attend the Johnny Cupcakes seminar at Sacramento State this past Thursday. It was really inspiring. He talked about how he started his business, the way it grew, the struggles he went through, his life. The whole thing lasted about 4 hours long, but it was well worth it. It's not often you can go to the lecture of a guy who runs a multi-million dollar business by selling t-shirts with cupcakes on them.

p.s. since the seminar was held at a college, of course it required a parking permit. i didn't want to shell out the extra 5 bucks for the all day parking pass so i had to improvise... you'll see :)

p.p.s. he held a Q&A after his lecture (along with a nickelodeon trivia game lol) and i asked him what his favorite bands were. first two bands were Deftones and Glassjaw. just thought i'd share that interesting tidbit.

gotta start our day off with some Milano's pizza.

and we got there like an hour early

Mr. Cupcakes in the flesh

The first 3 minutes of his lecture

looks normal right?

we tricked those motherfuckers!

dp+friends: 1
csus parking police: 0

So every seat at the seminar had this little goody bag under it.

some people got money ($1-$100) in their goody bags. i got a piece of candy.

who needs 100 bucks though when you can have a Mario Lopez card :)

i would put this on my backpack but my last Amoba Music pin fell right off.

the program

out of the whole lecture he gave, i think this slide really sunk into me.

my band broke up yesterday

and even if i was only a part of ishotthesheriff for a few months, i had a great time with it. i went from being a fan of this band to vocalist. crazy huh? i really don't wanna lose touch with any of the guys, they've been great to me. our last show is in about a month at some lame venue in walnut creek. hopefully there'll be no drama.
